Minister approves Biên Hòa-Vũng Tàu expressway project

HCM CITY –  The first phase of the Biên Hòa- Vũng Tàu expressway project has been approved by Deputy Prime Minister Lê Văn Thành.

The first phase includes work on  五 三. 七 km that will run through the southern provinces of Đồng Nai and Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, and run parallel to National Highway  五 一.

The total investment of the project is VNĐ 一 八. 八 trillion (US$ 八 二 二 million). The project will be built under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The expressway will play an important role in connecting major economic and urban centres.

The project is expected to ease congestion on National Highway  五 一, and speed up travel between Đồng Nai, Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu and HCM City.

It will add to traffic infrastructure needed for the future Long Thành international airport and for industrial development.

Minister of Transport Nguyễn Văn Thể said the Ministry of Transport would strive to complete the project by  二0 二 五 to connect the Long Thành International Airport with the Cái Mép-Thị Vải port area in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu.
